9 Months Already

Can you believe 9 Months already! I can't, but I am loving every minute of it. She has so much personality and humor. She is an extremely happy baby. I can't believe she's mine half the time. People tell me how lucky I am all the time and they're right. Kelsey is an amazing blessing. Kelsey is trying to learn how to crawl and pull up but she likes to roll best. No matter the method she will get to her destination. She is saying Mama and Dadda and she laughs and babbles all the time. We are working to get her onto table food and switching her to cow's milk. I hope by 1 year to have the bottle, the paci, and all baby food gone. That's the plan at least. She's already well on her way. She prefers adult cups to sippy cups and table food to baby food and she only needs her paci when she's tired or upset. So, we are well on our way.
Last weekend she had her first trip to the Zoo. She went to Nashville Zoo (Grassmere, not sure the name) with her Uncle Erik, Aunt Jennifer, Extenda-Aunt Rachel, and Extenda-Cousin Emily. (Extenda is the term we use for amazing people in our lives that are not actually related but should be.) She had a blast. She petted a camel and a goat and LOVED the fishes. In fact, when we pass fish tanks at the hospital she will wave "Hi" to them. It's so cute.
She loves books, especially The Belly Button Book. We have to take at least 2-3 every where we go. It's almost more sacred then a paci. She also loves her big sissy Alice. They get along great and enjoy playing with each other.
She is growing up fast and I hope to keep you posted as best possible. If you are on Facebook, you can keep up with us there too. I am able to post many more pictures on Facebook!

Colorado Vacation

Kelsey is now 7 months, soon to be 8. This past week we took a family vacation to Colorado, where we saw Kelsey's Aunt, Great Uncle and Aunt, two Great Aunt's, a second cousin, and her Great Grandmother (GranNana as we call her). She had a blast and was amazing during the 15 hour long drive one way. I am proud to say that Kelsey has now been to seven states. Well, 10 if you count while in the her mommy! She loved her first hike in Rocky Mountain National Park, although she fell asleep during it. She is almost 20 pounds now and as you can see above she is quite a chunk. This past weekend she attended her first birthday party honoring her friend Lily McKim. She painted and had a blast. On Sunday we went to the Green River in KY for a family picnic and almost got swept away by the crazy weather. So, it has been quite a week for Miss Kelsey and the Cobb's. We are looking forward to getting back to some sense of normalcy this week.

6 Months

Kelsey is now 6 months old. She weighs in at 18 pounds 2 ounces and 25 1/4 inches long. I know! What a chunk! She is so expressive, as you can see in the pictures above. She is learning to sit up and can do so for about 30 seconds at a time. She is also trying to crawl but is lacking the upper body strength to do so, but she is willing and trying. She will soon be cutting 2-3 teeth. One on top and two on the bottom. We are currently trying to get her on more baby food but because of her digestive problems we have to be careful. No cereals, rices, carbs, for now; only fruits and veggies. As you can see she still has those beautiful blue eyes and all her hair. Well, most of it. She is pretty bald in the back. She is going blonde though! The entire underside of her hair, I guess that would be the new stuff growing in, is blonde. Everyday Kelsey is learning something and doing something new. It's truly amazing. In just a few short months she will be running from me!

5 Months and Growing!

As usual, the Cobbs' have been keeping quite busy! We hosted an Open House, as seen above, for everyone in Nashville to meet Kelsey Marie. She was a very good girl, letting everyone pass her around. She is now 5 months old and getting so big. How big? I am unsure. She will go back to the Dr. at 6 months. We are currently in the process of changing her to regular formula, instead of Nutramigen, and we are beginning foods. We started foods at 4 months, however, she kept having reactions to anything carb related; oatmeal, rice. So, we dediced to stop feeding her cereal of anykind, at this point. She is almost sleeping through the night. We are up once or twice during her sleep cycle. So, not bad at all. She is beginning to show a few signs of empathy and seperation anxiety. Daily she tries to roll over but hasn't made it yet. Her eyes are still blue and her hair is beginning to lighten. Soon she will be running around like crazy!

Easter - Almost 5 Months

Above are a few pictures of this past Easter weekend. It was quite a big weekend for Miss Kelsey. Saturday Kelsey and I helped Aunt Anne with a bridal shower she hosted. Sunday morning we went to Easter at Robert's Stadium with our church, Crossroads. Sunday afternoon, we had lunch at Nana and Pawpaw's (Cobb) and that evening we had dinner with our family and some close friends, at the house of a family friend. Kelsey had quite the eventful weekend!

She is becoming such a big girl. She weighs almost 15 pounds!!! She is still having issues with her digestive system but we are pretty much controlling them. She goes back to the Dr in late May for her 6 month check-up. She is doing great at Daycare and I am proud to announce that Daycare has stated that she is the best dressed! She is becoming more and more animated every day. She babbles, giggles, laughs, sings. Recently, her favorite thing to do is pop/buzz her lips and make bubbles with her saliva. She loves to stand, of course with some assistance, and we are working towards sitting up on her own.
